Biggest Conference on Sustainable Mountain Environment and Tourism to commence in Leh this year
Leh, Aug 16: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson was called on by the former CEC, LAHDC Leh and a Member of the Governing Council of Integrated Mountain Initiative (IMI), Rigzin Spalbar to discuss the forthcoming 11th Edition of the Sustainable Mountain Development Summit (SMDS) to be held in Leh on the 10th, 11th and 12th October this year.
Both the officials stressed that this particular conference cum summit is aimed to enable and find a way forward in dealing with environmental challenges as well as issues of Ladakh in particular and all the Mountain States at large.
Keeping in view the participation of VVIPs which would include Chief Ministers, Ministers, MPs, MLAs and Experts from all the Mountain States and Union Territories of India, CEC Gyalson has desired to convene a meeting with all the concerned stakeholders including members of Sustainable Development Forum, Ladakh and the Administration to discuss the themes, topics and other necessary preparations.
