CEC discusses approval for urgent works of RKS, HDF of District Hospital Kargil

 

Kargil, Feb 10, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a review meeting to discuss necessary approval for urgent works for the session 2024 of RKS and HDF of District Hospital Kargil.

 

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Medical Superintendent DH Kargil, Physician Specialist, Executive Engineer R&B, PHE, PDD, Project Director KREDA, District Information Officer besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.

 

Medical Superintendent, DH Kargil informed the CEC that a total of Rs 92 lakh budget is under the Hospital Development Fund (HDF) and Rs 10 lakh under Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS).

 

The meeting discussed procurement of Jan Aushadi Drugs, consultant cabins library, establishment of consultant cabin, maintenance of doctors common room, funds to help needy people, Ayurvedic drugs, reserve funds for CME, purchase of electrical, carpentry, plumbing items, cabin in physiotherapy section, purchase of sanitary item, UPVC partition for storage of bedding for attendants, repair of different sections, parking allocations, purchase of batteries for blood bank and other issues.

 

The CEC showed his disagreement over the engagement of multi-tasking staff through HDF. He said HDF is specifically for the development of hospital infrastructure development and procurement of necessary items.

 

CED Dr Jaffer directed MS, District Hospital Kargil to write a letter to higher authorities to absorb the same manpower on an outsourcing basis under professional services.

 

He also directed to raise existing funds from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh to help to provide financial aid for the poor and needy. He also directed the Health Department to prepare criteria so that the most deserving would get the benefit of the scheme.

 

The CEC also directed to raise the funds of Jan Aushadi Drugs from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. He also suggested providing 90 percent discount on medicines which would help the financially weak people. Dr Jaffer suggested to spare a prayer room for attendants at the hospital.

 

The CEC appreciated the efforts of doctors and other healthcare staff for providing uninterrupted services to the people. He requested all officers to work with a similar spirit to improve the services as well as the infrastructure of the district hospital.
