CEC Dr Jaffer advocates for critical airlift initiative with Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Ladakh
Kargil, Feb 20, 2024: In a significant development meeting, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today engaged in constructive talks with Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Ladakh, Brig. (Retd) Dr. B.D. Mishra.
The primary focus of the discussion centered on the urgent need for special flights, specifically IL-76 & C-130 aircraft, to facilitate the seamless airlift of passengers and students from Srinagar & Jammu to Ladakh.
Dr Jaffer highlighted the critical importance of these special flights in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of individuals to Ladakh, considering the unique geographical challenges of the region. The IL-76 & C-130 aircraft were specifically identified for their suitability to meet these transport requirements.
Beyond the airlift initiative, the CEC and Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor engaged in a comprehensive discussion on various developmental issues vital for the progress of Ladakh.
