CEC Feroz Khan chairs meeting to raise Red Cross Funds in Kargil
Kargil, June 16, 2023:
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting at Council Secretariat Kargil to discuss and raise Red Cross Funds in Kargil.
Executive Councilor, Social Welfare, Agha Syed Mehdi Fazlli, Executive Councilor, Health Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani, Superintending Engineer, PWD, Abdul Mutalib, Superintending Engineer, PHE, I&FC, Maqbool Hussain, Exen REW, AO to DC and other district officers and officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion and deliberations were held in order to raise Red Cross Funds in the district and the feasibility of use of the fund was also discussed.
The CEC said the funds should be used by providing relief in times of disasters/emergencies and in promoting the health and care of vulnerable people and communities.
Khan said the aim to raise the Red Cross Funds in Kargil is to inspire, encourage and initiate humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized and even prevented and thus contribute to creating more congenial climate for peace.
DC Kargil underlined the significance of Red Cross as a humanitarian service and underscored the need for generous contributions by the district officers and employees towards this noble cause.
In order to carry out effective Red Cross activities in the district, the DC stressed the need to evolve a mechanism of coordinated efforts by involving the Red Cross volunteers as well as other Government departments. It was discussed in the meeting that any volunteer from any department can donate funds to raise Red Cross funds in the district.
