Khaltse, December 21, 2025:
The Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme was successfully conducted today at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Khaltse, with the aim of protecting children from poliomyelitis and ensuring comprehensive immunization coverage across the subdivision.
The programme was inaugurated by the Incharge Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Asgar Ali, along with Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr. Shamim Ahmad and Consultant Paediatrician Dr. Spalchen Gonbo. The immunization drive was symbolically launched with the administration of polio drops to a one-month-old child, Stanzin Khasdup, marking the formal commencement of the programme.
On the occasion, the Incharge SDM, BMO, and Consultant Paediatrician also flagged off mobile vaccination teams to ensure that every child in the subdivision is covered under the programme and no child is left out.
Addressing the gathering, BMO Khaltse Dr. Shamim Ahmad informed that 272 personnel were deployed for the smooth execution of the campaign. A total of 68 polio booths, supported by 12 supervisors and two mobile vaccination teams, were established across the subdivision. Under the programme, 980 targeted children in the 0–5 years age group were successfully administered anti-polio drops.
Doctors, ASHA workers, and paramedical staff of CHC Khaltse actively participated in the drive, ensuring its smooth and efficient implementation.
