CEC Kargil Dr Jaffer Akhoon visits Chuchot to condole tragic demise

Kargil, July 04, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today visited Chuchot along with Councillor, Yourbaltak Constituency, Manzoor ul Hussain to offer his condolences following tragic demise of a young boy who drowned in Indus River in Leh.

During his visit, the CEC expressed heartfelt gratitude to the LAHDC Leh, IKMT Baseej Imam Volunteers, Army, SDRF, Ladakh Police, ITBP, JCB Association, Rafting Association, volunteers and all involved in the search efforts to recover the boy’s body. He acknowledged their dedication and tireless efforts during this difficult time.

“This is a huge loss for the community,” Dr Akhoon said. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed his deep sympathies to the bereaved family.  

Dr Akhoon also urged the youth to exercise caution and refrain from approaching the river, noting the dangerous high flow of the Indus River during this season.
