CEC visits Tia village to assess fire damages

 

Extends immediate financial relief to each affected family

 

Leh, Dec 12: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson assessed the on-ground situation of the unfortunate fire incident that took place at Tia village in sham region last night, causing huge damages to individual properties.

 

CEC Tashi Gyalson visited the fire-affected households and expressed his solidarity with the aggrieved families. Terming the incident unfortunate, CEC assured them of all possible assistance from the Hill Council, and the District Administration, Leh to alleviate their losses.

 

CEC also instructed SDM Khaltse to immediately rehabilitate the affected families at a suitable location with all the necessary amenities. He also handed over immediate financial assistance to each affected families. He added that the District Administration (DDMA), Leh has already dispatched immediate essential household relief materials which would be handed over to the fire victims today.

 

Furthermore, CEC informed that all necessary steps would be taken by LAHDC Leh and the Administration in the coming days under suitable welfare schemes including ‘Housing for all’ to compensate for the losses at the earliest.

 

He appreciated the contribution of the villagers, sub-divisional officials, and volunteers of the Army, BRO and Police for their efforts in controlling the massive fire outbreak in avoiding further escalation. Councillor Temisgam, sub-divisional officers and officials led by SDM Khaltse, and various other concerned officials and village representatives were present during the visit of CEC.
