Chief Electoral Officer, Ladakh, Conducts Field Verification in Leh

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Ladakh, Sh. Yetindra Maralkar, IAS, conducted a field visit today to the villages of Sabu, Choglamsar, Sheynam, and Skampari as part of the ongoing Special Summary Revision of the Photo Electoral Roll w.r.t. 1st January 2025.
During the visit, the CEO carried out on-ground verification of voters who had applied for corrections, additions, and deletions in the electoral roll. He personally met the applicants to authenticate their credentials and ensure the accuracy of voter data.
The CEO also inspected polling stations in these areas, interacting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and the applicant voters. He emphasized the importance of a transparent and efficient revision process and directed the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) to address any issues faced by voters on a priority basis.
The field visit underscores the commitment of the Election Commission of India, to ensuring a smooth, fair, and inclusive revision process for the electoral roll, thereby empowering all eligible citizens to exercise their democratic rights effectively.
