HDFC Bank Parivartan and CII Foundation in collaboration Block Development office (RDD) Chuchot, kick out community engagement and environmental awareness campaign from Stakna villages on 5th December 2025.
As part of the initiative, around 350 cloth bags by HDFC Bank and CII Foundation and 250 dustbins by BDO office (RDD )Chuchot were distributed to households and community members. The campaign aimed to reduce plastic pollution, promote sustainable alternatives, and strengthen source segregation practices at the village level.
Officials from RDD Chuchot, CII Foundation’s team members, Nambardars, Community representatives, and villagers joined the door-to-door outreach to encourage residents to adopt eco-friendly habits. The drive also highlighted the importance of using reusable cloth bags, proper segregation of household waste, and maintaining cleanliness in public spaces.

Speaking about the initiative, representatives from the CII Foundation emphasized the need for collective responsibility in environmental management and expressed their commitment to supporting Ladakh’s waste reduction goals. And villagers expressed their grievances reagrding waste collection vehicle and feedback about the services.

Community members and Nambardars of villages expressed appreciation for the support and welcomed the effort to enhance cleanliness and environmental awareness.
The campaign forms part of ongoing campaign in Chuchot Block covering 6 villages to build stronger, cleaner, and more sustainable villages in the Chuchot block through capacity-building, awareness programmes, and improved waste-management infrastructure.
