Commissioner Sec., Padma Angmo reviews Social Welfare initiatives in Kargil
Kargil, January 12: Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Padma Angmo, today chaired a meeting at Conference Hall, LAHDC, Kargil, with officers and officials of Social Welfare and ICDS Kargil.
At the outset, she took a detailed review on the progress of various projects under the SDP and Central Sponsored Schemes (CSS) of Social Welfare, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), and Union Territory-run initiatives.
During the session, the Commissioner Secretary delved into a thorough examination of the District Drug De-Addiction Center, providing directives to ensure adherence to DDC guidelines for effective implementation.
She emphasized the disbursement of non-institutional funds under Mission Vatsalya, urging for timely clearance of financial obligations.
Padma Angmo directed for timely clearance of all wages for staff, Anganwadi workers, and outsourced personnel before January 26.
The Commissioner Secretary concluded the meeting by soliciting suggestions from the participants to shape plans for social welfare initiatives in the region.
Earlier, a detailed presentation was made, covering expenditure status under centrally sponsored schemes, the supplementary nutrition programme, SDP-related works, progress of Old Age Homes, nutrition status of Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) and Moderately Acute Malnourished (MAM) individuals, scholarships for students, status of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) etc.
District Programme Officer, ICDS, District Social/Tribal Welfare Officer, Kargil, OSD to CS, District Child Protection Officer, Chairperson Child Welfare Committee, Kargil, CDPOs of Kargil and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
