Councilor Baroo-Minjee Sheikh Mehdi called upon LG Ladakh, raised developmental issues to address and resolve:

LEH, 18 MAY: Councilor LAHDC-K from Baroo-Minjee constituency, Ghulam Mehdi Sheikh called upon Lieutenant Governor Union Territory of Ladakh, Brigadier (DR.) B. D. Mishra at Raj Bhawan Leh and requested for intervention in the developmental issues pertaining to Education, Health and Infrastructure sectors of the constituency. During the meeting Ghulam Mehdi Sheikh submitted a detailed memorandum to the LG and asked for resolving the issues as soon as possible.

Sheikh demanded Upgradation of Govt. High School Minjee to Higher Secondary level. He also demanded appointment of Doctors at NTPHC Baroo and Minjee respectively.

The Councilor requested LG to establish a new Medical Sub-Centre at Gramthang village.

 

Other demands included Construction of pedestrian Subways near Schools located on Kargil-Zanskar Highway and remodelling/ Repairing of Titichumik Gongyur and Baroo-Tsok irrigation kanals.

The LG gave a patient ear to all these demands and assured to look into the matters for appropriate action.

Later the Councilor also visited the Advisor’s office and called upon Umang Narula (IAS) Advisor UT Ladakh.

The councilor was accompanied by Community members from Baroo during this meeting. He demanded to allow purchase of DG Sets for the lift irrigation plant of Baroo village.

Advisor wrote the concerned Secretary to look into the matter. After that, the Councilor met Commissioner Secretary Ajit Kumar Sahu(IAS)regarding the same. The Commissioner Secretary asked the concerned Superintending Engineer to consider the demand in public interest.
