Covid-19 mock drill held at CHC Sankoo

Kargil, April 10, 2023:

Amid spike in Covid-19 cases in India, Community Health Center Sankoo today conducted a mock drill to check the preparedness and resources to deal with Covid-19.

The mock exercise was held in presence of Block Medical Officer Sankoo, Dr Ghulam Hussain, Dr Banazeer Khatoon Consultant Anaesthetist, Dr Tariq Inayat Medical Officer CHC Sankoo and health care workers.

During the mock drill, resources available in the CHC Hospital Sankoo to fight Covid-19 were inspected by Block Medical Officer Sankoo, Dr Ghulaam Hussain and Dr Banazeer Khatoon Consultant Anaesthetist. They inspected infrastructure readiness with a special focus on oxygen plants, ventilators, logistics and human resources at CHC Sankoo.

Mock drill is a trial run conducted to check how health department and staff manages an emergency using available resources and hospital protocols to avert any chaotic situation.

Earlier, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had advised all the states and Union Territories to effectively implement a five-fold strategy of test, track, treat, follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and vaccinate to check the spread.

The ministry has also asked the states to ensure the availability of required drugs and logistics for Influenza and Covid -19 across health facilities. Apart from this, states have been asked to ensure the availability of sufficient designated beds and health workers.
