DC Kargil chairs DMC meeting to review progress under Swadesh Darshan 2.0.
Directs department to focus on branding and promotion of Kargil as tourist destination.
Kargil, Dec 29: Chairman, Destination Management Committee/Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Suse today chaired a meeting of Destination Management Committees (DMC) to review the status and implementation of projects under Swadesh Darshan 2.0. (SD 2.0)
During the meeting, the DC Kargil was informed about the status of implementation of program and in this regard a detailed presentation was given progress on status of projects under SD 2.0.
Detailed discussions held on progress on various activities under Destination Marketing and Promotion such as creation of social media handles for promotion of tourist potential of Kargil, preparation of tourist events/festivals, monthly newsletters.
Detailed discussions held on skilling, capacity building of tourism stakeholders under scheme as well as proposed initiatives under community engagement.
The stakeholders present at the meeting provided valuable feedback and suggestions.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kargil, CPO Kargil, Executive Engineer R&B Kargil, AD tourism, DySP Kargil, EO MC, representatives of industries department as well as All Kargil Travel Trade Association.
