DC Santosh reviews stocking of essentials for winter

KARGIL, OCTOBER 03, 2022:

Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a review meeting in order to assess the status of winter stocking in the district.

All concerned District Officers and representatives of NHDICL and Indian Oil Corporation were present during the meeting.

A threadbare discussion was held regarding stocking of essentials by the concerned departments and concerned officers briefed DC Kargil about the situation of winter stocking in their respective departments.

Regarding the operations of Mechanical Division, NHIDCL and Indian oil in Zanskar in winters, the DC directed to store adequate fuel and necessary equipment.

DC Santosh directed to complete the stocking of fuel by Mechanical Division for Zanskar before October 20 and engage manpower for machines at the earliest. He directed the NHIDCL and Mechanical Division to avoid filling of fuel from petrol pumps from October 20 onwards.

Regarding Food and Consumer Affairs Department, DC Santosh directed that the stocking and distribution of food grains in Zanskar should commence by October 10. He also directed to do stockings of food grain to cater the requirements till June 2023.

Regarding Health Department, DC Kargil directed to dispatch the stock of medicines and other essentials for Zanskar at the earliest and also directed to prioritize the remaining works of the 300-bedded hospital to ensure its early completion.

DC Santosh also took the assessment of the winter stockings of Animal Husbandry, Cooperatives, Forestry, Agriculture, FCI and Horticulture Departments and directed to complete pending works of stocking at the earliest.

The DC also directed to complete stocking of equipment under Subsidy Component at the earliest and asked the concerned department to ensure enough stocking of dates considering the month of Ramadan in spring of 2023.
