DIET Kargil celebrates International Day of Sign Languages at Chutuk
KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 22, 2022:
DIET Kargil today celebrated the International Day of Sign Languages at Chutuk and organized an orientation-cum-awareness program with the slogan “sign language unites us”.
Students and teachers of MS Chutuk, and ĎIET staff and faculties attended the program.
Two experts Nahida Banoo Nodal Officer IED UT Ladakh and Dorjey Manager REWA Society Ladakh were invited to speak on the importance of the day and to sensitize the participants about sign languages that are equal in status to spoken languages.
In the inaugural speech Principal DIET stressed upon the need to make society inclusive, lovable, friendly and enjoyable for each citizen.
In the interactive program students actively participated in the session with sign language practice. They also demonstrated their names in sign language on stage.
The program concluded with vote of thanks by the program coordinator Mohd Yahya.
