ICDS Project Zanskar celebrates Poshan Maah

KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 24, 2022:

ICDS Project Zanskar on Friday celebrated Poshan Maah at Community Hall Zangla and conducted a Panchayat level awareness camp at Panchayat Halqa Zangla.

Stanzin Sangdup, BDC Chairman Zanskar Block along with other PRI Members of Zangla Panchayat Halqa, residents of Zangla, Shakma and Tsazar took part in the event.

Sadiq Ali, Supervisor ICDS Project Zanskar, said the event was aimed to aware people about the importance of balanced diet and healthy life, inclusion of local and traditional food items in daily life and the improvement of nutritional outcomes among general mass in general and adolescents, children, pregnant women and lactating mothers in particular.

Poshan Abhiyaan aims at reducing the level of undernutrition and also enhance the nutritional status of children in the country, improve the nutritional outcomes of adolescents, children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.

Muneer Rasool Wani, Counsellor, ICPS Kargil, briefed about different child protection services, violence against women including domestic violence and the procedure regarding filing a complaint at special cell for women.

The participants were given awareness on different schemes of ICDS, ICPS and Social Welfare department including PMMVY, NSAP, ISSS and pension, scholarship schemes.

The BDC Chairman while speaking at the event stressed upon the people to take benefit of such government schemes and services. The BDC also appreciated ICDS and Social Welfare Department for organizing such an awareness camp.
