Director RDD Tahir Hussain reviews implementation of RDD schemes

Leh, May 02: Director, Rural Development Department, UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the schemes of the Rural Development Department for the financial year 2023-24 with the stakeholders, including Chairperson Block Development Council; President, Panchayat Coordination Committee; Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh; District Panchayat Officer, Leh.

Executive Engineer, REW; all Block Development Officers; Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers, MIS Operators, and other concerned departmental officials were also present in the meeting.

The meeting deliberated the execution of work under Grant-in-Aid (BDCs and Sarpanches), the status of the Audited Utilisation Certificate, resumption of works under SDP and State Sector in a detailed block and village-wise manner.

Reviewing the detailed progress of various ongoing and planned works/activities under various schemes, Director RDD enquired from the concerned officer/officials the status of DPRs/ Work Plan Preparation, including estimation, the accord of administrative approval, and tendering of works, etc. He instructed the concerned AEEs and JEs to timely submit proposals for changes in the nomenclatures of works to avoid issues/problems during the auditing period.

Director RDD also reviewed the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM G) scheme in Leh district and directed the BDOs to complete soak pits under Grey Water Management within the fixed targets.

During the meeting, Director RDD urged the Chairpersons BDCs, and the officers to present any issues or concerns faced in duly executing their work. He also advised the concerned stakeholders to seek community resolution in works that are halted due to disputes.
