Directorate of Accounts and Treasures, Finance Department, Ladakh conducts 2-day training session for district officers on GeM

 

Kargil, June 27, 2024: The Directorate of Accounts and Treasures, Finance Department, UT Ladakh, today conducted a 2-day training session for district officers from Kargil district on Government-e-Marketplace (GeM).

 

The training session was led by Deputy Director, GeM, Ankit Jhawar and Business Facilitator, Javeed Shaikh. Both the experts highlighted the operational mechanisms of the GeM portal, as well as the procurement and selling processes for products and services.

 

They presented key statistics on the number of currently registered buyers and the 319 services available on the GeM portal to date.

 

The training session focused on several important aspects, including the advantages for buyers, user roles based on segregation, the forward auction facility for movable and immovable items, various payment methods on GeM, buyer and seller ratings, incident management policies, buyer classifications, vendor assessments by RITES, services available on GeM, multilingual support, GeM myCHAtbot for queries, helpline numbers, and dedicated pages on GeM for the “One Nation One Product” initiative. Live demonstrations were also provided on how the portal operates.

 

Finally, all participants were reminded of the important terms and conditions related to GeM legalities for those utilizing the portal for procurement and sale of services and products.
