Disaster Management Training Programme Held at Office Complex Leh

Leh, October 08, 2026: Under the aegis of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Leh, in collaboration with the 13th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), a Disaster Management Training Programme was conducted today at the Office Complex Leh.

The session commenced with a welcome address by Skalzang Chospa, Chief Accounts Officer, followed by an address by Inspector Puran Singh Negi of the 13th Battalion and a lecture-cum-training session by Constable GD Piyush Kumar of the NDRF. The training covered CPR, management of LPG cylinder leakage and fire, use of emergency floating rescue devices, improvised stretcher-making using common household materials.

The session was attended by officers and staff of various government departments functioning at the Office Complex Leh.

The district-wide training campaign covering educational institutions and government departments will continue until October 13, 2026, with the objective of strengthening disaster preparedness, awareness, and safety measures across the district.
