Disaster preparedness, response training program held at GHSS Sankoo

Kargil, Dec 17, 2022:

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhedeve and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), a disaster preparedness and response training program under the supervision of SDM Sankoo was organized today by sub-divisional level disaster management committee at Govt. Higher Secondary School Sankoo.

On the occasion, Councilor Saliskote Syed Agha Arman was the chief guest, Councilor Trespone Agha Mujtaba, Chairperson BDC Taisuru Ameena Banoo was guest of honour, Chairperson BDC Sankoo Ghulam Mehdi, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo Muhammad Hanief, Incharge UTDRF Kargil Inspector Iftikhar Hussain, Incharge Tehsildar Sankoo Muhammad Hussain, Principal GHSS Sankoo, Incharge Fire and Emergency Services Kargil, Akbar Ali, MD Yakland Enterprises besides PRI members, sub-divisional officers and officials, Bashir Hussain representative of DDMA, Sarpanches, Panches, students and large gathering of public were present.

Incharge UTDRF Kargil, Inspector Iftikhar Hussain along with his team of trainers and volunteers of Baseej Baqtiyallah Anjuman Sahib Zaman Sankoo presented a demonstration related to disasters to the audience to overcome any disaster-related situation.

Moreover, demonstration related to first aid treatment to injured ones during any untoward incident was also given to public.

Incharge Fire and Emergency Services Kargil, Akbar Ali along with his team of trainers presented a demonstration related to fire incidents. During the training program, he gave awareness to participants on how to control fire in case of fire incidents.

MD Yakland Yakland Enterprises, Jaffar Khan, also imparted training regarding safety rules and precautions to be taken in case of any emergency situation.

During the training program, Bashir Hussain, a representative of DDMA Kargil also displayed disaster-related equipment to the public.

In the event, trophies were distributed to all the trainers of UTDRF, Fire and Emergency Service Kargil, Yakland Enterprises, volunteers of Sahib Zaman Sankoo, by the chief guest and guest of honour for their endeavours.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed gratitude to District Administration Kargil and SDM Sankoo for organizing such camps in Sankoo.

In the end, SDM Sankoo thanked all the Councilors, BDCs, officers and public for attending the training camp despite their busy schedules and severe cold.
