Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon unanimously elected as Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil 

 

Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil, Iqbal Ahmad Masoodi administers oath to newly elected Chairman/CEC Kargil

 

Kargil, October 18, 2023: Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon was unanimously elected as Chairman LAHDC Kargil today during first meeting of newly formed 5th LAHDC Kargil held at Conference Hall Baroo.

 

As per S.O. 86 issued by Election Department UT Ladakh, first meeting of 5th LAHDC was convened by Election Authority/DC Kargil.

 

At the outset of meeting,Election Authority welcomed all councillors for the first meeting and congratulated them for taking oath of office.

 

During the meeting as per rule 94 of LAHDC election Rules 1995, name of Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon- Councillor Thasgam-Thuina as Chairman LAHDC Kargil was proposed by Sh Nasir Munshi, councillor Choskore which was as seconded by Councillor Padum Sh Phunchok Tashi.

 

In light of single proposal moved during meeting, Election Authority declared Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon as Chairman LAHDC kargil being the unanimous/uncontested candidate.

 

After declaration, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil, Sh. Iqbal Ahmad Masoodi administered oath of secrecy to newly elected Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon during the ceremony.

 

Election Authority Kargil/District Magistrate/ CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse, Special Judge Mobile Magistrate Kargil Shafeeq Mustaq Lone, Additional District Magistrate Kargil Ghulam Mohiud din wani , along with councillors of LAHDC Kargil and other dignitaries were present during oath ceremony.

 

Later in the evening, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon assumed the charge as Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil at council secretariat in presence of CEO LAHDC Kargil, all councillors and other dignitaries.
