EC Feroz chairs meeting regarding grievances of Pashkum Constituency 

 

Kargil, Dec 26: Executive Councilor Revenue and Tourism, Kacho Mohammad Feroz today chaired a review meeting regarding the grievances of Pashkum Constituency about the expansion of NH-01 Kargil-Leh National Highway.

 

During the meeting, BDC Chairperson, Sarpanches, concerned officers of I&FC, PHE, Forestry, Revenue, BRO besides concerned officers were present.

 

During the meeting, the PRI members discussed various issues on the expansion of the National Highway through the constituency including dumping of debris, drinking water pipes, Irrigation canals and other issues.

 

The PRI members raised the issue of dumping of debris emphasizing the need for a method that minimizes its impact on villagers. Additionally, they proposed safeguarding walking paths to the mountains and ensuring the protection of small irrigation canals during the construction process.

 

The concerned officers assured that the Nallahs will be cleaned, similarly in next season after formation cutting culverts will also be constructed simultaneously.

 

EC Feroz directed that before the trees are cut down, general public should be taken in confidence besides CSR works must be explored.

 

During the meeting, it was also decided that the executing agencies were informed that the irrigation kul of Samar should be repaired before the spring. They were also directed to remove the debris at Kapila as soon as possible.

 

During the meeting, the EC directed to restore the pipelines and to provide temporary drinking water lines at the earliest. Other issues including works related to PHE, compensation of trees and other issues were also discussed in the meeting.
