EC Feroz conducts extensive tour to Pashkum

Kargil, Feb 12, 2024: Executive Councilor, PHE, I&FC, Revenue and Tourism, LAHDC, Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz today conducted an extensive tour of Pashkum village to take first hand appraisal of developmental activities and met various public delegations.

He was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer, KDA, ACD Kargil, ACR, District Program Officer ICDS Kargil, Executive Engineer I&FC, PHE, R&B, PDD, PMGSY, KDA, Tehsildar Kargil, besides other concerned officials were present.

At Tharumsa Mohallah, the public delegation informed the EC about various issues, including construction of a multipurpose playground, fencing for graveyard, Tharumsa’s inclusion in the revenue village, building an Ice Hockey Rink, and other local demands.

The inhabitants of Grong Mohallah projected some demands like installation of tower for better mobile connectivity, construction of a pedestrian bridge at Fatto, approach road from Chumikstrang to Khang Rgyab, construction of Community Hall at Brok Khar, lift irrigation facility for Mohallah Grong besides other demands.

The locals of Fiyaqbar Mohallah informed the EC about various issues which includes construction of community hall at Yokma Fiyaqbar, protection bund at various places, installation of 250 kv transformer at Yokma Fiyaqbar, repair of LT Line, construction of playfield/ice hockey rink, construction of children park and other issues.

At Mohallah Zangang, the EC was informed about various issues like construction of road from Stakpa Chuka to Yougstang Masjid, construction of road from Adda Zang to Youstang Masjid, upgradation of 220 KV transmission line, development of drainage systems in all the streets, tailoring center for women, solar water heater 200 liters each house, dispensary etc.

The locals apprised the EC about various issues of Samar Mohallah like maintenance and macadamization of link road, fencing of graveyard, repair of electric supply lines, additional accommodation room at Middle School Saamar, construction of lift water supply through reservoir, opening of Anganwadi Center’s besides other issues.

The villagers of Khardung Mohallah informed the EC about repair of Ranthak Kul, additional room at graveyard, heating system for Masjid at Khardung and Chulasa, construction of cattle shed for livestock besides other demands were kept.

The EC gave patient hearing to all the projected demands. He said they he will try to resolve the water issues at various Mohallah’s of Pashkum and a meeting will be held with Xen PHE and with concern AEEs and JEEs. EC Feroz directed Xen PDD to repair the damage LT lines at various locations on priority basis.

The EC informed the locals that maintenance of link roads of Pashkum village will be done on priority this year. He also said that many DPRs are already completed adding that this year works on various link roads will be executed.

In response to women’s demands to open skill centers, the EC stated that a proposal has been forwarded to the higher authorities of UT Ladakh for approval.

The EC also informed the locals that work is already in progress to meet projected demands, and assured them that the remaining issues will be addressed on a priority basis in phases.
