EC Ghulam Mehdi reviews arrangements for Muharram
Leh, Aug 12: District Administration, Leh, today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, under the chairmanship of Executive Councillor (Minority Affairs), LAHDC Leh, Ghulam Mehdi, with the representatives of religious organisations and concerned departmental officers.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Leh, Sonam Chosjor, directed the concerned departmental officers to make all the necessary arrangements in concurrence of the Seerat Committee. He stressed the observance of Muharram procession in strict adherence to the Covid-19 SOPs and guidelines issued by the district administration.
ADC Chosjor directed the concerned departments to ensure essential facilities such as uninterrupted power supply and backup, medical facilities, including deploying doctors, paramedics and ambulances, water supply, ration availability, traffic management, PA system, sanitisation of congregation areas for the Youm-e-Ashura procession.
The religious representatives also assured the district administration to extend all the possible support and cooperation for the smooth and peaceful organisation of the procession.
