EC Kacho Feroz Chairs Meeting to Resolve Public Concerns Over Shargole–Kanoor Road Widening Project

Kargil, February 23, 2026: A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Executive Councillor, Revenue, PHE, I&FC, and Tourism, LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz to address issues related to the widening of the road from Shargole to Kanoor being executed by the VIJAYAK/BRO.

The meeting was attended by Officers of VIJAYAK/BRO, the Hon’ble Councillor of Shargole Constituency, and members of the gencral public from Khachay, Karamba, Foo, and Sirjing villages. 

It was reported that several villages from Shargole t o Sapila have been affected during the road-widening process.

During the meeting, the Hon’ble Councillor of Shargole apprised the chair and participants in detail about the grievances raised by the public. After threadbare deliberations, the Hon’ble Executive Councillor directed the VIJAYAK/BRO authorities to address the concerns of the residents during the road alignment process to ensure that minimum loss is caused to immovable property, particularly agricultural land and residential houses.
