GDC Drass celebrates “Har GharTiranga” Campaign


Kargil, August 11, 2023: As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Govt. Degree College Drass today celebrated the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign at the college campus.


The event commenced with an address by Principal Dr. Amajad Ali Abassi, highlighting the significance of the occasion. He emphasized to the students the importance of understanding India’s history and the sacrifices made by our forebears in their struggle against colonial oppression and injustice to secure India’s freedom.


After Principal’s address, students from various groups performed patriotic songs. Dr Shah Niwaz, Assistant Professor of Political Science, and Mohd Yasin, Director of Physical Education and Sports, distributed National Flags to the college students. They encouraged the students to proudly hoist the flag at their residences between August 11 and 15.


To raise awareness about the significance of the Har Ghar Tiranga program among the public, a rally was organized, starting from the college campus and proceeding to Drass market. The event saw enthusiastic participation from both students and college staff.


The program was conducted by Department of Political Science, Cultural Committee, Physical Education and Sports Department, and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan unit of GDC Drass.
