GDC Nubra observes No Tobacco Day

Leh, May 31: The Students Council of Government Degree College (GDC), Nubra observed No Tobacco Day to join in the global call to urge the users of tobacco and tobacco products to say no to tobacco. The event was presided over by the Principal, GDC Nubra, Dr Tsewang Motup.

 

Addressing the gathering, Principal, GDC Nubra advised the students to stay away from tobacco and its various products as 18-20 years is the age when most of the tobacco users get into its ambit and become addicted to it for life. He reiterated that the use of tobacco not only reduces one’s life expectancy but it also causes many diseases, including cancer. He strongly appealed to the students not to use tobacco and help others to stay away from this evil product.

 

Stanzin Yangdol of 5th semester, Zenab Khatoon of 3rd semester and Nazia Bano of 1st semester presented their papers highlighting the importance of No Tobacco Day and urged the public and especially students to abstain from the use of tobacco and its varied products and lead a healthy life.

 

The programme was coordinated and conducted by Treasurer, Students Council GDC Nubra, Stanzin Wangtak.

 

President, Students Council, GDC Nubra, Bilques Bano expressed gratitude to the college administration for providing the platform to organise such events in her vote of thanks.
