GMDC Zanskar organises awareness programme on SVEEP, intramural Snooker tournament under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
KARGIL, OCTOBER 19, 2021: As a part of the series of events held under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Government Model Degree College (GMDC) Zanskar organized an awareness programme on the importance of election process and SVEEP in collaboration with District Election Office Kargil at the college campus here today.
An intramural Snooker tournament was also kick started on the occasion.
SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, Physical Director Murtaza Ali, Naib Tehsildar Zanskar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, College Coordinator Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Dr Tashi Lundup, Assistant Professor Tashi Gyalson, BLOs besides faculty members and students were present on the occasion.
In his address SDM Sonam Dorjay appreciated the efforts of the college administration for creating a feasible environment for sporting activities particularly for inclusion of an appealing indoor sports Snooker. He also appreciated the endeavours of the college administration in improving the campus infrastructure.
Meanwhile, during the awareness programme on election process and SVEEP, SDM Sonam Dorjay and Naib Tehsildar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan enlightened the participants about the importance of election process in a democratic set up, SVEEP and role of BLOs during the elections.
The program was moderated by Assistant Professor Political Science and Coordinator Electoral Literacy Club Tsewang Gailtsen.
