Health Department Leh observes World Clean Air Day

Leh, Sept 13: Health Department Leh observed World Clean Air Day with the theme ‘The Air We Share’ at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Leh today.

Women Alliance Leh, Traffic Police personnel, and all the staffs of CMO Office, Leh were present.

CMO Leh, Dr Nurzin Angmo, welcoming the guests and participants, briefed about the impact of polluted air on our health and importance of observance of the day.

State Nodal Officer, National Programme for Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH), Dr. Sunil Arihar gave a detailed power-point presentation on ‘Save Yourself from Polluted Air’.

Physician Specialist, Dr Tsering Nurboo emphasized the participants about the adverse impact of polluted air on our health.

Later, a poetry session was also organised during which renowned poets of Ladakh like Venerable Lobsang Nyantak, Jigmat Omachik, Tsering Sonam Basgo and Mudassir Tariq recited their beautiful poems.
