ICDS Leh observed International Literacy Day with the theme of Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for mutual understanding & peace under the banner of Beti Bachao Bati Padhao, today on 8th September, at meeting Hall of District Programme Officer ICDS Leh. Sh. Ghulam Mohi Ud-Din Wani (JKAS), District Programme Officer, ICDS Leh was the chief guest of the event.
The event began by observing two minutes silence prayer for deceased Inspector Tsewang Namgyal, UTDRF who lost his precious life during a rescue operation. Sh. Ghulam Mohi Ud-Din Wani paid his condolence to the bereaved family.
During the event, the District Programme Officer and Child Development Project Officer ICDS Leh spoke and highlighted the importance of the International Literacy Day for promoting multilingual education. The event was successfully concluded with a pledge taking ceremony.
All the CDPOs, Supervisors, Health & ICDS staff, AWWs & AWHs attended the event.
