Kargil: SAI KARGIL TAEKWONDO PLAYERS SHINE AT NATIONAL LEVEL.

Taekwondo players from Sports Authority of India Training centre Kargil UT of Ladakh set a benchmark achievement at 39th Junior National Kyorugi & 12th Junior National Poomsae Taekwondo Championship held at Barieli, UP from 27th to 29th January,2023.

11 players from SAI Training Centre Kargil participated in the championship among which Sonam Chosphal won a Gold medal in Individual Poomsae.
Sonam Chosphal, Feroz Ahmad and Zeeshan Mehdi won Gold medal in Male group Poomsae.
Nazira Banoo and Zeeshan Mehdi won Gold in pair Poomsae.
Shahnaz Batool and Rehana Batool won Bronze in Female group Poomsae.
Arbaz Khan and Rehana Batool won bronze in U-59 KG and U-49 KG weight Category respectively in Kyorugi

The Executive Director SAI, RC, Chandigarh Smt. Lalita Sharma congratulated the players for their brilliant performance in the Junior National championship and also congratulated In-charge SAI-STC Kargil Ghulam Mustafa, Taekwondo Coach SAI-STC Mohd Ali, whole staff of SAI-STC, winners and participants for their tremendous achievement.
She also appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm shown by the coach and the players of SAI-STC Kargil.

Moreover she congratulated Ladakh Taekwondo Association for their brilliant performance in the said championship.

It is pertinent to mention that SAI-STC Kargil is working really hard for the upliftment of several sports in the UT. It was successful in producing some brilliant national and international players such as Shahnaz Parveen, the recent Inter-University Gold Medalist.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Secretary Youth Service and Sports, UT Ladakh Shri. Ravinder Kumar for his generous support for the upliftment of sports in UT Ladakh.
We also thank Hon’ble CEC LAHDC Kargil Shri. Feroze Ahmad Khan, Worthy DC/DM Shri. Santosh Sukhadeve, DYSSO Kargil Shri. Abid Ali, President LTA Shri. Gulzar Hussain Munshi and all others who supported us whenever needed.
