Khadi and Village Industries Commission holds awareness program on PMEGP
Kargil, July 05, 2023: Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) today organized an awareness program on Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for stakeholders and students at Conference Hall, Kargil.
Nodal Officer PMEGP, Ladakh and J&K, Anil Sharma gave a detailed presentation related to the scheme. He informed the gathering about various modules related to the PMEGP and its importance in order to provide employment avenues and in creation of enterprising units.
He also talked about the amount of loans provided under the service sector and manufacturing unit. he said for loans below Rs 10 lakh guarantor is not required.
Sharma informed that J&K and Ladakh have topped across the country during the Financial Year 2021-22 under the program and hoped that more success stories will come from Ladakh.
During the event, issues related to PMEGP and other schemes were discussed. The Nodal Officer said in future, awareness program related to the scheme will be held at the Panchayat level.
Chief General Manager, J&K Bank, Kargil, Mohammad Hussain, said youth should explore entrepreneurship avenues apart from pursuing for jobs and this very scheme is very beneficial in the creation of small units and youth should avail its benefits.
The event was also attended by Lead Bank Manager, Muzaffar Hussain, Industrial Promotion Officer (IPO) DIC, Showkat Ahmed, unit holders, students and other concerned officers. The IPO, Showkat Ahmed presented vote of thanks.
PMEGP is a central sector scheme administered by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME). The scheme is implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) functioning as the nodal agency at the national level.
