Kisan Mela observed in Kargil

KARGIL, APRIL 26, 2022: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kargil today organized Kisan Mela at Auditorium Hall Agriculture Department Kurbathang under the theme “Kissan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari Campaign” and under the sub-theme ‘Kargil Apricot: The Identity and Power of Desert’.

 

The KVK observed the event in collaboration with Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and other concerned departments. The day-long event was observed at different KVK’s across the country under the directions of the Union Ministry of Agriculture.

 

Executive Councillor for Agriculture Mohsin Ali was the chief guest of the occasion. Addressing progressive farmers at the event, the EC congratulated the organizers for conducting the event and suggested farmers to practice extensive farming practices to benefit maximum population in the district.

 

EC Mohsin further urged the farmers to take maximum benefits from the government-sponsored schemes and directed the concerned departments to provide required equipment and facilities to farmers in a timely manner.

 

Chief Scientist KVK Kargil, Dr Muhammad Mehdi said that the program is observed across the country to aware farmers of the best practices and innovations in the farming sector.

 

Dr Mehdi urged the farmers to practice organic farming in order to maintain the quality of the soil.

 

On the occasion, Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, Chief Horticulture Officer Ali Reza and Senior Scientist KVK Nasreen Kacho also addressed the gathering and gave insight about best agriculture and horticulture practices to the farmers and asked them to contribute to strengthen the agriculture sector in Kargil.

 

Principal Scientist KVK Kargil, Dr Muhammad Mehdi, Chief Agriculture Officer Muhammad Ali Khan, Chief Horticulture Officer Ali Reza, Senior Scientist KVK Nasreen Kacho besides other concerned officers of concerned departments, PRI members and progressive farmers were present on the occasion.
