Krishi Sakhis from various Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the Livelihood Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM) participated in a specialized training programme on the Establishment of Bio-Resource Centres (BRCs) for the promotion of organic and natural farming. The training was organized at the National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Hyderabad.

The programme aimed to enhance the technical knowledge and practical skills of Krishi Sakhis in developing village-level resource hubs that supply quality bio-inputs, strengthen natural farming practices, and generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural communities.
During the training, participants received hands-on exposure to:
Preparation and management of bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, and organic soil amendments
Best practices in natural farming and ecological crop management
Establishment and operation of community-based livelihood centres
Techniques for field-level advisory services and extension
Business models for income generation through BRCs

The initiative is expected to empower Krishi Sakhis to act as frontline ambassadors of sustainable agriculture, helping farmers reduce input costs, improve soil health, and adopt eco-friendly farming methods. By setting up Bio-Resource Centres in their respective regions, SHGs will also be able to create local employment and strengthen rural entrepreneurship.
