Jammu, December 24, 2025:
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kargil-I has been honored with the prestigious “Best KVK of Ladakh–2025” award in recognition of its exceptional performance and remarkable contribution towards agricultural extension, innovation, and technology dissemination across the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The award was presented during the Three-Day Annual Zonal Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras–2025, organized by the ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone-I, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J). The workshop was held from December 22 to 24, 2025, at SKUAST-Jammu.
Head of KVK Kargil-I, Dr. Nasreen Kacho, received the award on behalf of the institution. She stated that the honor reflects the collective dedication of the KVK team in promoting modern agricultural practices, enhancing farmer capacity building, transferring advanced technologies, and strengthening sustainable agriculture amid the challenging agro-climatic conditions of Kargil and Ladakh.
The recognition has brought immense pride to the farming community and stakeholders of Kargil district. Farmers and well-wishers have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Nasreen Kacho and the entire KVK Kargil-I team for their unwavering commitment, hard work, and impactful grassroots-level interventions.
This achievement is expected to further inspire KVK Kargil-I to continue its mission of empowering farmers, boosting agricultural productivity, and promoting sustainable farming practices across the region.
