LAACL Kargil organizes book release ceremony of Aina-e-Kargil

Kargil, Dec 05, 2022:

Ladakh Academy of Art Culture and Languages Kargil (LAACL) in collaboration with Association of Baltis in Himalayan and Territories of Indus today organized a book release ceremony of Aina-e-Kargil, authored by Padma Awardee Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat and a Multi-Lingual Mushaira at Cultural Academy.

Executive Councilor Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mehdi Fazily, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Joint Director Information Department Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho, Deputy Secretary LAACL, Nazir Ahmed, Padma Awardee Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, State Awardee, Ahmed Jawan, besides noted poets writers and literary figures were present on the occasion.

EC Fazily congratulated Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat for releasing his book. He also hailed historians and writers of Kargil for their immense contribution in the documentation of history, culture and language of varied cultures which exist in Kargil for centuries. Fazily further said this contribution will help to mark the local identity at the global level.

DC Santosh on behalf of District Administration congratulated the Padma Awardee for the release of his book. DC Kargil stressed translating books written in local and Urdu languages into English so that readers across the globe can read and learn about history and different cultures of Kargil.

DC Kargil also advised students and the younger generation to develop reading habits to learn more about their own history and culture.

Terming the younger generation as the future ambassadors of Kargil, he said the regional knowledge will help them to build a holistic approach for the betterment of the district.

DC Kargil also appreciated the budding poets and writers of Kargil and advised them to carry forward the rich legacy to create a cultural repository for the coming generation.

JD Information Ladakh Imteeaz Kacho stressed younger generation to maximize the usage of their mother tongue in their daily life. He said in today’s global world, regional languages and cultures are declining rapidly. He said at such crucial junctures it becomes the responsibility of the younger generation to carry forward the rich legacy of regional cultures.

Many prominent Balti, Purgi and Sheena poets including Hadi Balti, Ali Asgar, Sajjad Ali Shujat, Muhammad Ali Khumar, Amjad Raza Badgami, Muhammad Shafi Sagar, Nasir-ud-din Khafi, Ashraf Ali Sagar, Mukhtar Zahid Badgami, Muhammad Ali Ashoor, Akhone Muhammad Ali, Bashir Ahmed Wafa, Ahmed Jawan, presented their poetry.

Earlier in his welcome speech, Deputy Secretary LAACL, Nazir Ahmed congratulated Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat on the release of his book.

He also thanked Aga Syed Mehdi Fazily, DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, JD Information Ladakh Imteeaz Kacho, poets, and writers of Kargil for gracing the event with their presence.
