LAHDC Kargil mourns Zojila tragedy with heartfelt condolences

 

Kargil, Dec 11: LAHDC Kargil under the chairmanship of Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today convened a meeting to pay condolence on the demise of Haji Mohd Akbar Lungbithang and others from Sankoo, who lost their lives in a tragic accident at Zojila Pass.

 

Executive Councillor, Aga Syeed Mujtaba Mussavi, Executive Councillor, Kacho Mohammad Feroz, Executive Councillor, Zakir Hussain and Councillor Town, Poyen, Choskore, Chiktan, Chuli-Skamboo, Former Councillor Baroo-Minjee Constituency, Chief Controller Finance, officers and officials from the Council Secretariat also attended condolence meeting. A two-minute silence was also observed to honor the departed souls.

 

CEC Dr Jaffer expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra for announcing ex gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased.

 

Furthermore, the CEC also expressed his solidarity on behalf of the Council with the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls.

 

At the outset, Executive Councillor, Aga Syeed Mujtaba Mussavi, lauded the service of late Haji Mohd Akbar and prayed for the departed soul.

 

Later, Councillors unanimously decided to organize a Fateha Khawan in the coming days for the departed souls and also urged all the 26 Councillors of the LAHDC, Kargil to contribute for this noble cause.
