CUS Weightlifter Mohammad Unzer Bhat Secures 3rd Position at National University Games

Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir as its student Mohammad Unzer Bhat secured third position in the 79 kg category at the National University Games in Men’s Weightlifting, held at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

In addition to the podium finish, Unzer Bhat has also emerged among the Top 16 weightlifters at the All-India level, marking a significant milestone in university sports and making him the only athlete from the Kashmir Division to achieve this distinction in the championship.

The achievement reflects the athlete’s consistent training, competitive discipline, and dedication, and highlights the growing presence of Cluster University of Srinagar in national-level sporting platforms.
The University has acknowledged the institutional support extended to the weightlifting contingent. The guidance provided by the Sports Section under Prof. (Dr.) G. M. Lone, Sports Secretary, the coordination by the Sports Committee led by Convener Dr. Sheikh Burhan ul Haque, and the on-ground support by Dr. Jameel Ahmad Qurashi, Assistant Professor and Manager and Coach of the Weightlifting Team, contributed to the effective participation of the team at the championship.
