Regional PF Commissioner conducts outreach program in Kargil

Kargil, October 06, 2022: Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, UT Ladakh and J&K, Rizwan Uddin, , who is on a two-day visit to Ladakh, today conducted an awareness program on Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 and other schemes at Conference Hall Baroo, Kargil.

The Regional PF Commissioner highlighted the importance of enrolling employees, contractual or casual, under the EPF to extend the benefits of social security schemes.

He spoke at length about the schemes framed under EPF and the Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, such as the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952, Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976 and Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995. He also briefed the participants about the benefits envisaged under the three schemes to the beneficiaries.

Stakeholders were also apprised about the benefits of pension and insurance to the family under EPS Scheme, 1995 and under Employees’ Deposit-Linked Insurance (EDLI) scheme, 1976 respectively to family members in the event of unfortunate death.

The Regional PF Commissioner stressed to ensure the timely remittance of provident funds in respect of all eligible members including contractual employees.

He also assured to resolve the issues faced by the schools by providing handholding support and training as per the requirements. He on spot solved the various problems faced by the employees and assured them every kind of support regarding EPF for the employees.

Incharge Chief Education Officer (CEO) Muhammad Amin, General Manager DIC Kargil Iftikhar Ahmed, Labour Inspector Amina Khatoon etc. were present on the occasion. Representatives of all private schools participated in the awareness program.
