SDM, SHO Drass ensure smooth flow of traffic on Zojila axis
Kargil, April 04: Yesterday after Project Vijayak and Project Beacon were able to connect Zojila pass after clearing snow avalanches, as per directions of higher authorities, SDM Drass and SHO Drass today again visited Zojila axis to assess the feasibility of clearance of stranded vehicles from Sonamarg towards Kargil.
However, today morning, due to strong winds and snow blizzards near Dayal Nallah and Khanpatri on the Zojila axis, movement of vehicles was not allowed.
Later at around 11 a.m., after getting green signal from Beacon, both SDM Drass and SHO visited India Gate and ensured smooth flow of traffic.
A total of 806 vehicles crossed the Zojila axis and moved towards Kargil and Leh which also included 246 essential supply vehicles of fruits and vegetables. A total of 3,555 passengers also moved towards Kargil and Leh.
