Zanskar, December 09, 2025: In a proactive step towards ensuring smooth winter management in the region, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Zanskar, Omkar Rajendra Gundage (IAS), held a comprehensive review meeting with Lambardars from various villages at the Tourist Dak Bungalow in Padum on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on assessing the subdivision’s winter preparedness and addressing grassroots-level concerns ahead of the harsh winter season.
Lambardars Raise Key Issues
During the interaction, Lambardars highlighted several challenges relating to:
Basic essential services Local infrastructure Winter road connectivity and logistics Availability of drinking water and other public utilities
The SDM carefully reviewed all submissions and instructed the concerned departments to resolve issues falling within their jurisdiction at the earliest.
Commitment for Time-Bound Resolution
SDM Gundage assured the Lambardars that all pending matters requiring intervention from higher authorities would be pursued promptly. He stressed that the administration is committed to addressing local issues in a time-bound and transparent manner.
