Leh, December 9: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, met multiple delegations at the LG Secretariat on Monday, where a wide range of community issues—including women’s empowerment, healthcare, sports infrastructure, and youth welfare—were brought forward for discussion.

Focus on Women’s Empowerment
Kunztes Dolma, Vice President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association (Women Wing), led a delegation seeking the LG’s support for establishing a UT-level Commission for Women. She emphasized that a dedicated commission, similar to those functioning in other States and Union Territories, is crucial for effectively addressing the unique challenges faced by women in Ladakh.

Public Demands Raised by Skurbuchan Delegation
Another delegation from Skurbuchan, led by Nambardar Shri Paldan, called on the Lieutenant Governor and submitted a memorandum outlining various public demands from the region. The issues raised focused on improving essential services and addressing developmental gaps.
Khaltse Delegation Seeks Relocation of Cricket Field Construction
A separate delegation from Khaltse, headed by Ven. Padma Thinles, requested the UT Administration to relocate the ongoing cricket field construction in their village. The group expressed concerns regarding the current site and urged the LG to consider a more suitable location.

LG Assures Timely and Inclusive Action
Lieutenant Governor Gupta assured all delegations that their concerns would be taken up with utmost priority. He reiterated that the UT Administration is committed to inclusive, community-centric development across Ladakh and will examine each issue thoroughly to ensure appropriate action.
