Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Ladakh chairs meeting on Consumer Commission Infrastructure
Leh, December 26: Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Ladakh, Yetindra M. Maralkar convened a meeting in his office chamber at Civil Secretariat, Leh to discuss Consumer Commission Infrastructure in Leh and Kargil. He deliberated on the formation of State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for Leh and Kargil districts with the concerned officials.
At the outset of the meeting, Secretary Maralkar stressed the importance of an effective consumer redressal mechanism in Ladakh for the ease of people. He also informed that the Department is in the process of appointing the President and members for the State and district Commission and therefore all the infrastructure should be in place before their appointment. He also directed the concerned officials to expedite the DPR for the consumer commission infrastructure and recruit the requisite manpower at the earliest.
The Director, FCS&CA, Ladakh, Moses Kunzang apprised the Secretary of the current status of the construction of new premises at Leh for Consumer Forum and he stressed the need for a new building for State Commission in available land. He also informed the Chair about the requirement of supporting staff for the commission.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Secretary, FCS&CA, Ladakh, Swarm Singh; AD, FCS&CA, Leh, Ruth Mary; Chief Engineer, PWD, Tashi Chombail; Executive Engineer, Construction Division, Imran Khan and other concerned officials.
