Secretary Power reviews progress of all Centrally Sponsored Schemes in UT Ladakh for winter season

Leh, December 1: Administrative Secretary (Power & RE), UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar chaired a meeting to review the progress of all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes under implementation in the UT such as IPDS, RAPDRP, PMDP Urban, PMDP Rural and DDUGJY.

During the meeting, Secretary Power expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of RECPDCL and asked the Additional CEO, RECPDCL to mobilize the contractor immediately and complete all the balance works under IPDS and RAPDRP before December 15, 2021 and close the scheme within the approved timeline.

Further, Secretary, Ravinder Kumar also instructed GM, PGCIL to keep uninterrupted power available for UT Ladakh through the 220 KV Srinagar Leh Transmission Line as at present Ladakh is importing around 30 MW from the grid which may increase up to 60 MW during peak winter 2021-22.

He stressed upon all the implementing agencies (RECPDCL, PGCIL) to complete the balance works under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes within the approved timelines and provide immediate benefit to the public by charging all the newly installed distribution transformers.

Earlier, Chief Engineer, PDD, Additional. CEO, RECPDCL, General Manager (RE) PGCIL briefed the Secretary Power about the present status of various works under all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Distribution (PDD), Superintending Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer, Electric Distribution Division Leh and Kargil, Executive Engineer Sub-Transmission Division Leh and Kargil, Executive Engineer Project Wing PDD attended the meeting. Additional CEO, RECPDCL, General Manager (RE) PGCIL and other officers from RECPDCL and OGCIL also attended the meeting.
