Special Cell for women launches outreach awareness in Zanskar

KARGIL, JULY 04 : The Women Police Station Kargil joined forces with the Special Cell for Women to launched their first outreach and awareness program at Karsha Nunrey Gompa Zanskar.

The program kick-started with an engaging interactive session, led by Ms. Disket Ladol, the SHO of Women Police Station Kargil.

She enlightened the Nunrey (Chomos) about the challenges faced by women in our society, discussing various issues unique to being a woman.

In addition, Ms. Hassina, a social worker from the Special Cell, shed light on the prevalent harassment and gender-based violence faced by women in our culture.

Her insights and experiences were eye-opening for all the participants.

As the session concluded, Ms. Disket Ladol expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the attentive participants for actively engaging in the program and making it an interactive experience. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 20 Nunrey at Karcha Gompa Zanskar.

This initiative marks an important step forward in raising awareness, empowering women, and creating a safer and more inclusive society.
