Leh, 16 Sept: A programme was conducted at Polytechnic Leh and ITI Kargil to discuss the portal functionality of NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) with the aim to promote apprenticeship training in Ladakh. Nodal officers from various government departments, including PWD, ITI, Fisheries, Health, Information, R&B, PDD, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, P.H.E, Mechanical, and Polytechnic participated.

During the session, nodal officers registered their departments on the portal and created training opportunities which will be on the portal in the near future and candidates can apply for these opportunities.

The session was addressed by Zhara Begum, Lecturer and Radhika Sharma, State Engagement Coordinator, Ladakh-NSDC in Leh, while Muzamil Hussain, Instructor ITI, and Vallivedu Srikar Reddy, MGNF addressed the session in Kargil.

The session addressed various queries related to the NAPS portal, including registration, opportunity creation, stipend release, and other portal-related queries.

The Apprenticeship Scheme provides Ladakh’s youth with the opportunity to register on the apprenticeship portal in their chosen trade, offering on-the-job training, stipends, and certification from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship or the relevant Sector Skill Councils. Additionally, apprentices will have the chance to gain hands-on training by working with government establishments in their respective job roles.
