Successful Delivery in 108 Emergency Ambulance of NHM Ladakh
Ladakh, June 11, 2024 – The 108 Emergency Ambulance Service, under the National Health Mission (NHM) Ladakh, successfully facilitated a childbirth in transit yesterday. On June 10, 2024, the service received an urgent call from Tingmosgang regarding a pregnant woman in need of immediate medical attention.
Responding swiftly, the 108 Emergency Ambulance JK02BX 8303 was dispatched to transport the patient from Tingmosgang to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Khaltsi. En route, the patient went into labor. With the skilled assistance of EMT Akhtar Hussain, ASHA worker Tia Yangchan Dolma, and the patient’s attendant, a safe and normal delivery was conducted in the ambulance.
Both the mother and the newborn are reported to be in good health and are currently admitted at CHC Khaltsi for vaccinations and routine follow-ups.
The 108 Ambulance Service continues to play a crucial role in providing timely medical transport and referrals to various healthcare facilities across Ladakh and Srinagar.
