Traffic Police Ladakh organises Cyber Jagrukta Diwas under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Leh, Aug 03: Under the aegis of PHQ Ladakh and supervision of SP Traffic Mohd Rafi Giri, Traffic Police Ladakh organised Cyber Jagrukta Divas under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at DC Conference Hall, Leh today.

The cyber awareness event was attended by officers/ officials of traffic police, students of EJM Govt. Degree College, Leh and expert guest speakers of J&K Bank and Axis Bank Leh.

DySP Traffic Leh, Mohd Baqir welcomed the guest speakers, students and traffic police officers/officials. He invited the J&K Bank expert in the field for deliberations on the topic.

J&K Bank Manager , Incharge Digital Alternate Channels, Safina Zakir presented a detailed PPT on Cyber and Online Crime and precautions required. She elaborated on different types of modes which are adopted by fraudsters to cheat public and how public can protect themselves from online frauds while adhering to important precautions in this regard.

Manager, Axis Bank, Samiullah spoke on other aspects like phishing, identity theft, security hacker, cyber stalking, ransom ware, account hacking, malware, viruses etc. He shared that every citizen needs to be aware of every kind of online fraud and cheating and how every one of us can save himself/ herself from the impending danger. He advised students not to fall prey of different online frauds and scams and in this regard they can visit bank offices anytime for guidance.

Later both the experts engaged in a question and answer session with the participants.

District Traffic Inspector, Leh, Dorjay Angchuk; Flying Squad Incharges Inspector Jameel-ur-Rehman and Sub Inspector Mohd Shafi; Assistant Professor Chemistry, EJM College, Stanzin Itga; Assistant Professor English, Sonam Angmo; JK Bank Manager Tashi Wanghuk; Arshad Latief and Rahilla Yasmeen of Axis Bank among others also attended the awareness programme.

All the participants appreciated the awareness programme and urged for more such events in future.
