Training imparted to polling staff in Kargil, Zanskar

Kargil, August 30, 2023: ADC Kargil (Election Officer) Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani along with Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil today supervised a training session for polling staff in connection with 5th General Elections to the LAHDC Kargil at Auditorium Hall Kargil.

 

On the occasion, the ADC Kargil (Election Officer) Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani briefed the Presiding and Polling Officers of their role and responsibilities and asked them to ensure that all instructions regarding polling day are implemented in letter and spirit.

 

He stressed upon them to perform their duties honestly. He also impressed them to maintain coordination with each other and with sectorial and Zonal Magistrates for smooth and hassle-free conduction of election.

 

During the training program, 649 employees of different departments were imparted necessary polling-related training in two sessions.

 

During the training, the polling staff were trained in proper handling and operating of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), besides briefed about duties assigned to Presiding Officers and Polling Officers.

 

During the training program, detailed deliberations were also made on procedure for conduction of mock poll, tender votes, maintenance of poll diary, sealing election papers and sealing of EVMs etc.

 

Meanwhile, a Visual Media Training Program was held today at GMDC Zanskar for the government employees of the Sub-Division Zanskar on the election proceeding and the functioning of EVM in connection with the 5th General Elections of LAHDC Kargil

 

SDM, Sonam Dorjay including officers and officials attended the Visual Media Training Program. The program covered nearly 100 government employees of several departments.

 

The training program was divided into morning and evening session. The training was imparted by ZEO Chetan Konchok, Lecturer Chewang Dorjay and teacher Jigmet Norbu.

 

The trainer Chewang Dorjay explained about the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), Mock Poll Processes, error messages on the display and use of seals and tags.
