Two Educators die in Tragic Collision Near Khargundla on Their Way to Election Training
On May 14, Two educators lost their lives in a car accident near Khardung La while en route to Leh for election training. District Commissioner and Returning Officer, Santosh Sukhadava, has announced a compensation of 15 lakh rupees for each family affected.
The deceased, identified as Mohd Eliyas, a teacher at Middle School, Thang, and Mohd Ibrahim, a teacher at Primary School Tyakshi, Farol, both from Nubra Subdivision. They were on their way to Leh for election duties under the second and third phase of training.
Expressing deep condolences, the District Commissioner of Leh, also the Returning Officer of 01 Ladakh Constituency, mourned the loss and announced compensation in accordance with the Election Commission of India’s guidelines. Additionally, the administration pledged five lakh rupees from the Red Cross fund.
The Lecturer Forum extended their sympathies to the grieving families and extended heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
